Near the mountain town of Steamboat lays the Yampa River.  The Yampa is a tailwater of Stagecoach Reservoir.  While off the beaten path this Colorado River is an excellent and unique fishery.  The river holds lots of rainbow and brown trout, and is also known for the smallmouth bass and pike population of the river.   If the fishing doesn't capture your attention, the breathtaking views will.  If you get a chance to fish this river, it will be well worth the trip.
